We recently purchased a house and have finally settled into our new home. Initially, I was hesitant about buying a house due to the uncertainty surrounding my current job, given the challenging state of the US economy and the restructuring happening in many companies. However, seeing how happy my partner was about the purchase and looking forward to the new life ahead, I realized that I could have made this decision earlier.
Work has been incredibly busy lately, as we lost two members from my team. One person moved to a different position, while another took a holiday to visit his family in his home country. Statistics shows that my workload has doubled compared to other analysts on a global level. Fortunately, things are slowly returning to normal now. Hopefully, I will be able to dedicate some time to personal activities, such as playing games with friends and engaging in self-learning.
In my early 30s, I made a commitment to give my work 100% of my effort, prioritizing it over what is often referred to as work-life balance. However, I have started to realize that I need some free time away from work to some extent. Having gone through an extremely busy period, I have come to the realization that I am not mentally as strong as I thought. I need to allow myself reasonable rest.
